Father Deacon Mathew
Father Deacon Mathew has been a devoted member of the Archangel Diocese since 1997, offering nearly three decades of steady service and prayerful presence within our community. In 2016, he embraced the monastic calling and was rasphored as a monk, committing himself to a life of deeper spiritual discipline and obedience.
On Lazarus Saturday, 2025, he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate, continuing his ministry at the Holy Altar with humility, reverence, and a sincere love for the Church.
Throughout his years with us, Father Deacon Mathew has been known for his faithful participation in the liturgical life, his dedication to ongoing study of the Orthodox faith, and his consistent willingness to serve wherever he is needed. His quiet constancy and devotion continue to strengthen and inspire the faithful of the Archangel Diocese.

Sub-deacon David
Sub-deacon David has been connected to the life of the Archangel Diocese for more than four decades, beginning his service on the West Coast in the early years of the mission under Archbishop Philip. In 1984, while in Los Angeles, he was blessed with the prayers of Sub-deacon, by Father Mathew Constantine, under the Omophora of His Eminence Archbishop Philip receiving encouragement and direction for a life of deeper commitment to the Orthodox faith.
In 1990, Sub-deacon David returned to the East Coast to further pursue the fullness of Orthodoxy and to serve once again under the omophorion of Archbishop Philip, who had first guided his early formation. His return marked the beginning of a renewed period of service, study, and dedication within the diocese.
Throughout his years among us, Sub-deacon David has been known for his steadfastness, his quiet loyalty to the Church, and his willingness to assist wherever he is needed. His long-standing connection to the diocese—rooted in the missionary years of Archbishop Philip and strengthened through decades of faithful presence—continues to be a blessing to the clergy and faithful alike.
